Two men are set to face charges after a shooting incident occurred in Pahrump, as reported by the Nye County Sheriff’s Office. On May 17, near 600 San Lorenzo Street, authorities responded to a home where they discovered a 40-year-old man who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was swiftly transported to University Medical Center for urgent medical attention, where he continues to receive treatment for life-threatening injuries. The suspect behind the shooting was identified as a 16-year-old male who fled the scene. Witnesses informed the police that a confrontation had taken place, followed by the sound of gunshots, and observed a dark-colored Chevrolet Impala departing from the area.

The investigation led officers to intercept the mentioned vehicle near Bell Vista Road and Gay Street, resulting in the arrest of both the teenage suspect and the driver, identified as 20-year-old Desmen Sims. During questioning, Sims admitted to initially dropping off the suspect near Mesquite and Blagg Road in Pahrump and picking him up eight minutes later. When questioned about the reason for this exchange, Sims allegedly informed deputies that he believed the teenager was disposing of the firearm. The Nye County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the juvenile has been booked at the Nye County Detention Center on charges of attempted murder and battery with substantial bodily harm, while Sims has been booked on accessory charges.
