Former President Donald Trump is set to speak at a Las Vegas church this Saturday evening, marking his first visit to Nevada during this election season. The event, listed on Trump’s website as a “volunteer recruitment event,” will be held at Fervent: A Calvary Chapel church at 4:30 p.m. Trump recently attended a similar event in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He officially launched his campaign for a nonconsecutive second term on November 15, 2022, at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida. Although Nevada is an important state in the Republican primary schedule, few presidential candidates have visited it this election cycle. Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida is the only other candidate to have visited Nevada, attending the Basque Fry in Gardnerville last month. Last year, Trump spoke in Las Vegas, supporting Republican Senate candidate Adam Laxalt and then-governor candidate Joe Lombardo. Trump won the competitive Republican nominating contest in Nevada in 2016 on his way to securing the nomination.
