Fox News has announced that primetime host Tucker Carlson is leaving the network immediately, following the settlement of Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation lawsuit for $787.5m. Carlson was among the hosts questioned as part of the lawsuit and Dominion’s attorneys listed about 20 episodes that aired on Fox’s networks as evidence of defamation, including Carlson’s. While Fox’s stock remained stable in recent months as evidence showed the hosts’ and executives’ skepticism about election fraud claims made on air, the lawsuit’s toll on the network’s programming and hosts remains unclear. Carlson’s departure comes without a sendoff and the company has not commented on the reason for his exit.
