pahrump fire

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced a recall of nearly 40,000 Chevrolet pickup trucks due to a risk of fire caused by the brake pressure switch short-circuiting. The recall affects Chevrolet models 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD manufactured from 2019 to 2023. The NHTSA has stated that the brake pressure sensor assembly may leak fluid into the pressure switch, leading to an electrical short-circuit that can cause a fire while the vehicle is in use or parked. Owners of affected vehicles will receive a letter notifying them of the recall by May 29, and repairs will be done free of charge once they are available. The NHTSA advises that the vehicles should be parked outdoors and away from buildings until the repairs are complete. Additionally, individuals can check whether their car is under recall by entering the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) into the NHTSA’s database online: https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls
