Construction on Basin Avenue at the intersection of Blagg Road in Nye County will result in a week-long closure starting March 27, with normal traffic detoured around Irene Street, Lola Lane, and Wilson Road. Passage lanes will remain open for school buses and EMS vehicles during weekdays. Local residents and businesses will maintain access to the area. Nye County Public Works began preparing for the 1.2-mile Basin Avenue rebuild in January, with the project expected to be completed by mid-May. After finishing work at the Basin Avenue and Blagg Road intersection, crews will focus on excavation of Basin Avenue and then the Dahlia Street intersection to improve driver safety.
